Our Story

Why Fallow Works exists, and who's behind it.

Marium Zain, Founder

Two decades of bringing products to life, from first sketch to final delivery.

I founded Fallow Works after two decades spent bringing products to life from the inside out. From first sketch to final delivery. I've worked on factory floors, in fit sessions, around cutting tables and in cross-functional meetings, making sure ideas don't just look good on a mood board but actually perform in real people's lives.

My background is in sourcing, materials and product development. I love the detail: how something is made, how it feels, how it fits, how long it lasts, and what happens to it when a customer is finished with it. I see factories and suppliers as partners, not backdrops. Good work only happens when the people who make our products are treated as part of the story, not an afterthought.

Over the years I've watched brands struggle to navigate increasing regulation, shifting expectations around impact, and the true cost of building products. I understand the policies, frameworks and pressures being thrown at founders and teams. And I care about weaving those realities into the foundations of a brand from day one, rather than bolting them on later.

Fallow Works is my way of bringing this all together: practical sourcing and product expertise, a human understanding of factories and workers, and a clear, structured approach to building responsible, resilient brands. When needed, I draw on a small cohort of designers, researchers and specialists who share the same principles, so the support you get is aligned, honest and grounded in real-world experience.

We build for the long term, not quick wins

We prioritize foundations over shortcuts, partnerships over transactions, and resilience over trends. Every decision we make together is designed to support your brand's growth for years to come.

What this means for you

Real-world expertise

You're working with someone who has spent decades on factory floors, in fit sessions, and navigating the complexities of global supply chains. Not someone who learned this from a textbook.

Human-centered approach

We see factories and suppliers as partners, not vendors. Building ethical supply chains means treating the people who make your products with respect and dignity from day one.

Compliance as foundation

Regulations aren't obstacles. They're opportunities to build better. We integrate compliance into your brand's DNA from the start, so you're never scrambling to retrofit later.

Aligned specialist network

When your project needs additional expertise, I bring in designers, researchers, and specialists who share the same values and commitment to responsible, resilient work.

Let's build something that lasts

If you're ready to build a brand with integrity, clarity, and a solid foundation, let's talk.
